Starck's Bike Design for Bordeaux
Philippe Stark has collaborated with Peugeot to design this bike for Bordeaux’s bike share- wonder how much it will change… looks pristine in the rendering, but sure to quickly get dirty. I also don’t see the the advantage of combining a bike with a scooter.

Lovely Letter
I received the most amazing letter from a happy customer! Not only are the words sweet, but the penmanship is excellent and she used a ‘ride a bike’ stamp- thank you Dawn!

Re-WAX: How to
The TransPorter, Snap:Pack and Belt Pouch are all made from a waxed cotton canvas that can be re-waxed to extend the life of the fabric. The wax makes the cotton waterproof and more durable, and over time it develops a leather-like patina.
This 1.5oz can of solvent free wax can prolong the life of our waxed products. Below are instructions for waxing fabric.
Step 1: Assemble Your...

Rouge
Some recent favorites: and not just because of the label!
Rare to see Flemish sours on tap- this was found at Mission Dolores in Brooklyn. If you make it to Philly, try the Monk’s Cafe Flemish Sour Ale…
Not sure if it was a 2007- but whatever we had was very good!

Philly Provisions
When we we went to Philadelphia last weekend, we swung by the Reading Terminal Market and picked up some things we just can’t find in Brooklyn… First thing I did was put this in a glass jar…
and this too. These are incredible- the corniest polenta and tastiest butter I have ever had.

Philamuseum
That is their domain name…
I am so overwhelmed when I go to NYC Art museums, so I really enjoyed the calm to appreciate so much great art in the Philadelphia Museum of Art over the weekend- for instance:
‘Element’ from the Room with Elements from the Stiegerhof
Max Ernst
Hans Haacke
Bonnie Cashine

Philly Bike Expo 2011
So easy to forget how close Philadelphia is to New York…
This year’s first snow fall landed on the first day of the Philly Bike Expo- that didn’t stop us from going and we took some photos to prove it.
Bilenky- the show’s organizers and builders of handsome steel frames.
More beautiful bikes built by Peter Mooney…

Recycling new to New York
There was a great article about NYC’s shitty recycling efforts in the Times today, which reminded me how pissed off I am after buying new shipping envelopes from U-line’s “Environmentally Friendly” section- and only after my 30 day return window did I realize the only way to recycle them was to “bring them to my nearest recycling center”. I tend to avoid buying...

Petit h
Last year, Hermès launched Petit h to upcycle their defective materials and waste coming from their ateliers by collaborating with artists and designers to create limited editions and one of a kind products. This weekend, NYT Style Magazine had an article about Petit h with this charming photo above. A ton of crafty people do this all the time, yet their ”waste” can’t be sewn...

NY Bike Jumble Fall 2011
This a bit late- but here are a few photos from the recent Bike Jumble!
It didn’t rain as predicted, and the crowds came out to the Fall Bike Jumble. It’s great meeting new people and they are always so supportive! So encouraging- can’t wait till next year.
I got my first order for a kid sized Lightning Vest!
